How do I stop the installation, the power button isn’t working, it will not turn off 

Hi @GaminCobra welcome to this free user to user Alienware laptop discussion forum. This is not Dell Support. 

The Alienware Command Center Application version 5.5.8.0 has a known bug that prevents installation on many PCs. When installation stuck, please stop installation. Go to Programs and Features and hopefully the AWCC v5.5.8.0 is listed. Right click to reveal list of options and click on Repair. Then Restart (not Shut Down) to save change. After Restart, the AWCC may ask to load additional components, to be followed by Restart (not Shut Down). 

If AWCC v5.5.8.0 is not listed in Programs and Features, install the Old AWCC version that you know works. 

Mine is doing the same, did you figure yours out?

dell want me to send mine in, they say it’s the motherboard. I’ve used this about 10 times

No good if you can’t shut it down

Please switch off at the ac adapter's mains supply plug, then disconnect from laptop power socket. Please remove all connections to the laptop. Thank you.

YOU NEED TO DO MY METHOD WHICH HELPED ME GET MY AREA 51M BACK FROM A BIOS UPDATE FAIL. IT WOULDN'T TURN OFF LIKE YOURS SO I DID THIS:

I opened the back panel and used a suction pad to take off the cover. then I disconnected the battery connector from the motherboard, and held the power button for 30 seconds. Then while holding CTRL + ESC I plugged the battery connector back in and it turned on. It should let you use the computer like normal but if it prompts you to do BIOS Recovery if you want to do it.

I can hold the power button for 5 minutes and it won’t shut down. I’ve disconnected everything. Im totally stuck
