m17 R3, uneven core temperatures
Hi,
I've noticed when under 100% load during a stress test, the core temperatures on my processor can be uneven with up to 17 degrees celsius difference between the hottest core and coolest. I have the i7-10750H processor
Using HWInfo, I am getting 97 - 99 degrees on Cores 1 and 3 and Core 5 is around 94. Cores 2 and 4 are around 85 and Core 6 tends to be around 82-84.
As you can see, the odd cores are hottest and the even cores are cooler
CPU is staying at about 3.9GHz clock speed and 100% load on all cores
I'm wondering if this is normal and if not, what the issue might be?

Replace the thermal pads and the thermal paste.
then I’d recommend reinstalling the heatsink evenly to make sure the heatsink is touching everything evenly.

Thanks for the reply
Unfortunately, I've never done a repaste on any laptop and the fact that this has a flipped motherboard with lots that could potentially break as I try and get to the heatsink etc makes me even more wary of doing so.
Is there any other option?
Edit: I've also now found that Core 5 also gets to 98 degrees C when previously it would max. out at 94
There seem to be lots of quality control issues with my unit

Asking someone to re-paste the cpu and gpu on a m17 r3 is not very good advise. The motherboard on this laptop is inverted so you literally have to take the entire thing apart. That's not an easy job even for people that know what they're doing.
