m18 R1, issues creating recovery disk?

I recently purchased an Alienware M18 R1 AMD and attempting to create a recovery drive. I purchased a Scan Disk Ultra 3.0 Flash drive (64 GB). When I run the recovery drive it collects the data and then tells me that i need to collect a USB Flash Drive, even through it is connected the next button to create the drive is greyed out. BUT the computer recognizes the USB as soon as I plug and there is nothing on it other than the original scan disk loads. What is wrong?

I was talking to support yesterday and tried 3 different company USB drives of 32 to 64 GB, but when recovery drive creates data to create a recovery disk it would not recognize the disk.  FYI, the computer already recognize them and even one was reformatted.  How do I create a recovery disk if this will not work.
