m18 R2, issue with external display

Alienware m18 R2

Alienware m18 R2

I'm using a LG UltraGear 45" monitor. When I plug it in it works fine until I turn my external display off. I am using it with only displaying the external monitor. I get no display until I unplug the hdmi 2.1 cable that came with the monitor. Plus I get a few beeps. It returns and works normal.

The issue you're experiencing with the Alienware m18 R2 and LG Ultragear 45 is likely related to the HDMI handshake between the laptop and monitor, combined with a possible driver issue. The beeps and display loss suggest that the GPU isn't properly recognizing the monitor when it’s powered off and on again, which is linked to the error codes (Nvlddmkm for the graphics card, and WHEA-Logger for hardware issues).

Try updating your NVIDIA graphics drivers to the latest version, and if that doesn't help, do a clean install using DDU to remove any old driver conflicts. Also, check the display settings and ensure that your GPU is correctly set to handle external displays. If the issue continues, try rolling back the driver to a previous version, as newer drivers might have introduced compatibility problems with your setup.

I just wanted to make a update

As it turns out the LG 45 ultragear seems to be the guilty party. When i tested on my desktop it seems when i switch hdmi ports on the gpu it seems to think im pluggin in another monitor so it kinda freezes.

the M18r2 worked fine on the LG Cx so that concludes that.

I think its something to do with LG 45ultra gear
