x14 R1, disabling Microphone Noise Suppression
I got my new Alienware x14 R1 laptop a few weeks ago and it’s been great. It works very well with apple wired earbuds; a notoriously hard pair of earbuds to connect for me personally. Recently, the earbuds microphone stopped picking up my keyboard and mouse sounds that i want to record. This started with all the audio on the laptop not working. I reset the laptop and redownloaded all the drivers. However, this ended up ruining the mic and causing the seemingly unfixable noise suppression (it still picks up my voice loud and clear though). It is important to note that apple earbuds don’t have a boost slider in its properties, only a volume slider. Weirdly enough, the earbuds mic was fine when I got it and also after I used an installation media to downgrade the laptop to Windows 10 (it came installed with Windows 11). I’ve tried resetting the laptop again to no avail and checking the drivers list. The earbuds mic captures keyboard and mouse sounds perfectly on my older Alienware m17. Ironically enough, I’ve only found guides on how to remove background noise, all of which utilize the boost slider. I was wondering if there was a way to be able to make my microphone pick up my keyboard and mice sounds.

Per case notes, after reinstalling Windows 11, did it start to work like you wanted?
