x15 R1, can I upgrade to 64GB?

I use a few apps for work that are memory hogs. i'd love to upgrade to 64gb. the x17 supports it but not the x15 officially. but i remember many times in the past upgrading beyond what's supported and things work fine. has anyone done this or have any advice? I see 64GB Kit 2x32GB DDR4-3200 PC4-25600 SODIMM lots of places.

Hi @Dan Taxation Is Theft  Dell Support for Alienware x15 R1 says it has Onboard memory. The integrated RAM chip is soldered onto the motherboard during manufacture and there are no RAM slots for user upgrade.

Windows 11 provides external USB-C drive option and internal Virtual memory option to be assigned for demanding graphic applications or games.

Hi @Dan Taxation Is Theft  if using graphics at home, could get eGPU box and install high performance GPU cards with lots of onboard vram to drive external high performance gaming monitor. Your 32GB RAM would then be used to drive the Alienware x15 R1's CPU, etc.

Getting a local computer repair shop to solder on higher capacity RAM chips will invalidate the Dell Warranty. Expect to see YouTube videos from gaming enthusiasts.

@crimsom sorry for noob question, 2 actially:

1 . Using the usb c option, can you describe where to fond tbat option? I have win11 and couldnt find it.

2. Using virtial memory, perfomance can be compated to real ram?

And last: soldering a new memory is really possible? Lets forget about warranty, does it worthy? Is there any risk (of corse performed by capable technicisn)

Thanks in advance
