x15 R1, main board issue

Hi everyone, I am facing issue with my dell x15 R1 main board. I think its burnt and there is no output to display. I did not find a motherboard of exact part number XDWN8 (32 GB Ram version). But instead,  I found an alternative part number available 54G4V (16 GB ram version). Is it okay if I use this part to replace my main board?

The boards should interchange without issue.

Hi @sh30167 ,

Like @ejn63 said; the boards will be compatible with each other so you swapping them shouldn't be an issue.

The only difference is the RAM amounts for each, but if you can try looking online for a board without memory to see if you can get your original one.

Let me know,

You won't find a board without memory, and note that the memory on this model is soldered on, so it cannot be upgraded later.

@ejn63 ,

I'm so sorry about that! I guess I'm out of date when it comes to these new products, I thought Alienware would've never soldered their memory but here we are.

Thank you!
