x17 R2, Quiet Mode, only one fan?

Question

Hey,

I have an x17 R2 and when I run the fans on Quiet Mode, only one fan seems to operate? Is there any way that I can enable the second fan?

This happens when I do anything really, especially for work (rendering CGI stuff), and I'd like to have both fans running on Quiet Mode to reduce the overall heat in the laptop case.

Hi @Steve_94 thank you for sharing update.

The culprit is seemingly Power Management that allows computer to turn off devices that are not being used to save power. Have a look at Solved: How can I check my fan status? - Dell Community If your system is not very hot, there is no issue to address.

Power Management will also switch off network adapters. Solved: WiFi Adapter Keeps Turning Off - Dell Community

The Alienware x17 R2 is designed for high performance, all four fans should be working, even in Quiet Mode.

Hi,Thanks for getting back to me. I noticed that in some cases, all four are working fine. However in others, one of the CPU fans doesn't.I have tried all other fan profiles as well as making my own and all four fans do spin correctly. So, I'm not sure what the problem could be.Thanks
