Neither USB-A ports work. USB-C does, HDMI, Thunderbolt, all of that is working. I don't know about the MicroSD Card reader as I've not used it yet. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers, tried to turn off "Power off on sleep", and all of that. This began after a Technician replaced my screen, so that's a little suspect. Was just seeing if anyone else had any similar issues or any further idea's. I've even checked for newest BIOS. I'm on "1.12.2" which is the latest. I am working with them already/still from my screen replacement follow up. I think they plan on having me send it in. I'll update when I hear more.

Hi @EnigmaticGlitch welcome to this free user-to-user Alienware laptop discussion forum.

Please connect system to internet using ethernet cable, visit Device Manager and delete any unknown USB, then Restart (not Shut Down) to save change. During Restart, windows will get new USB driver from internet.

I've already performed those steps multiple times. I'm also on the latest BIOS. Just did it again for good measure. Nope, still failing.

Negative. That is a no go. However; I have one update that does not want to uninstall after 2 reboots and 2 attempts. Updates_Uninstalled.png

This is the ONLY thing I have not tried. Going to do that now. As of this moment, it's scheduled to go back to Dell. Shipping Box and Packing is on its way. I'll post if this works or not.

I have the same issue with X15 R1 and it turns out that the secondary mainboard that controls the USB ports was fried. I have no idea how that happened but the technician came twice, first changed the whole mainboard but can't fix it and found that it was the second small mainboard that broke.

Mine, the Technician removed the Motherboard for no reason, which apparently he ended up not plugging cables back in. This would include fan cables, hence the overheating, and USB-A daugterboards. This was fixed, it ran like garbage. The damage from the heat had been done. Now I have an M18 R1. It's nice. A lot better than the X17 R2.
