Thanks Ian. Did not come back here to repost the solution. We upgraded the Avamar client to 7.1 and the problem was resolved.

We have the same problem and we are running 7.1.100-370, what build are you running on the client that resolved it?

We are seeing this on multiple windows 2012 R2 Cluster servers.

The Client Agent version we have installed that is working is 7.1.101-145., Build 2/26/2015.
