Celerra Backup without using NDMP

Hi,
We have a NS40 (integrated) and would like to start backing up the different file systems. Is it possible to perform backups without using NDMP or without using an Enterprise Backup Solution like Tivoli Storage Manager or HP Data Protector?

We would like to be able to connect a tape drive to a data mover and execute a PAX command backup from a command line.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Andrew

I seem to be having a problem with my attachment posting ability. While I'm working on that, the manual you need to look at is called "Using the Celerra server_archive Utility." This utility is what you'll use to back up directly to an attached tape drive using the command line on the Control Station. server_archive is multi-protocol, so it will back up both the Unix and CIFS attributes of each file.

The document Bill has referred, can be found at Powerlink using the following navigation -

Home > Support > Technical Documentation and Advisories > Hardware/Platforms Documentation > Celerra Network Server > Installation/Configuration

I tried to attach the file but have some issue as well.

Thanks,
Sandip

Hi,

Thank you both. I have found the document and will start looking through it. From what I see so far, it looks like what I need.

Thanks again,

Andrew
