migrate filesystem to a different storage pool?
We have a Celerra NS-120, and I need to enlarge a filesystem, but the storage pool it's on is full.
I would prefer to migrage this filesystem to a (new) different storage pool, then expand it.
I don't see it (maybe because I have not yet added a new storage pool), but is there a way in unisphere to migrate
a filesystem to a different storage pool? Preferably live, while it is shared & being used.

search this forum, it's been asked a couple of times but you could use Celerra Replicator ..there will be short downtime time when you swap file systems.

Hello David
You have create a local replication session to move data to another storage pool. Please refer to the Celerra replication document ( Using EMC Celerra Replicator (V2)) as it will explain how you can create a local replication session. After creating the replication session, you have to manyally fail over to the destination file system and at that time there will be small outage.
Please let us know if you have any further question.
Thanks

Thanks for the Replicator suggestions.... But, we have only the one NS-120, and no Replicator license.
Would be nice to be able to do this within a single Celerra via Unisphere, similiar to a LUN migration with a Clariion.
I wound up expanding the Filesystem from a different storage pool than the one in which it was originally created, an ugly configuration IMO, but I had to get the additional space up.

Hello David
if you do not want to buy Replication license then you can use host utility to migrate data.

Or – if it is a one-time activity – you can ask your EMC contact for a trial license
