We have Centera and file servers that have DiskXtender File System Manager 6.1. with a Centera as the archiving device. We have archived files, and it all works good. The admin guide states that typically the software has the folder rename option disabled and that if the folder rename option is enabled - you have to perform a metadata export. Why does a meta data export have to be performed ?

Are there any good work-arounds so that if a disaster event was to occur for example, the DR site will not return the archived files to both the old and and the renamed folders (two places) when performing a compact task - as the admin guide states.

I am looking for a step by step type process to perform if a DR is required (we have Centera's replicating between data centres) and archived data is to be made availble to the file servers at the DR site.
