moving ethernet cabling on McData Switch
We're updating/upgrading our core LAN switches and are in need of recabling the SAN and McData switches. Am I correct in assuming I can move the ethernet cables "hot" on these devices (one at a time) if I'm not changing IP addresses?

yes, you can move them online, fiber channel traffic will not be affected.

Welcome to the forums mstek !
Yes, Dynamox is right: ethernet is for management only. Make sure your management software who might be monitoring this port is aware of the unpatch/patch action, otherwise you might get a switch unreachable notification. But nideed: FC traffic is not affected !
