I would suggest you try reseat the sense cable of the SPSA.

But if no result, try a good sense cable.I believe this should help you.

Bob,

This sounds silly but sometimes the Java GUI that supports Navisphere does not refresh properly. If you right click on the array and select faults, are any faults listed in the dialog box? If no, then this is most likely the case. I have seen this a few times and closing out of my browser and restarting it and the Navisphere session will clear it.

If the array faults dialog box actually lists a fault, then I would first double check that the cabling is correct. I know you said it was correct but I would grab the hardware reference guide and double check it. Also check to make sure both SPS's are still fully charged. If everything looks fine then there may be a faulty SPS communication cable (the little RJ-11 cable). Those do go bad occassionaly and can produce the error you are describing. Support will send you out a couple to replace your existing ones. They usually send one with each SPS when the SPS is replaced to ensure that that is not your issue.

Aran, thanks for your response.  The array is shown as faulted, even after restarting Navisphere manager, and the "Faults" dialog box shows "Bus 0 Enclosure 0 SPS A : Faulted".  So it really thinks something is wrong.  The only RJ11 cable I touched is the one connecting to SPS B, and there is nowhere to plug it in incorrectly. Would a powerdown/powerup of each SPS, one at a time, of course, help to "reset" this error?  I don't know how to check if "both SPS's are still fully charged", other than looking at the lights on the end of the SPS.

Thanks,

Bob D

Bob,

The lights on the SPS are the best way to tell if they are fully charged. The SPS communication cable could be faulted. I would call support and relay what you described here. It is a small part that is easily replaced and I have seen this issue resolved by just a cable replacement before. Let me know what they say and if replacing the cable resolved the issue.

re-seating the cables started a battery test/recycle.  The SPS fault cleared and everything's OK now.

Thanks
