they are not using return codes but are simply scrubbing standard out. Because they are looking for certain strings in the output i would make sure output from navicli and naviseccli looks identical. Setup a couple of test snap sessions and use their commands and then use naviseccli.
I have no clue... i have a copy of the script but would not know where to start looking for the return codes. The script is long so i didnt want to post it here.
But to do that i would have to upgrade them first correct?
Does the CX series have the option to enable/disable classic CLI like the CX3 and CX4 series does. If so i would think that i can make sure classic cli is enabled to make sure the script in teh current form works before trying to modify it to naviseccli commands.
Does this sound right?
Does that feature enable you to use both navicli & naviseccli commands at the same time or is it one or the other?
Ok, just ended a chat session with EMC and they told me that classic CLI is enabled by default all the way thru R29. So the array will accept the old navicli commands after being upgraded from R19 to R26. Sounds like i dont need to modify that script at all.
That option will disable the classic commands and require you to only use naviseccli commands.
When you say RM, your talking about Replication Manager correct? I though this was a Windows only program? they have AIX host and the script is run from them. Is there a AIX version?

Do you know if they use return codes in the script ? Those could have changed in the new CLI

i don't think you can enable/disable classic cli (in flare 19) , but you can use navissecli with flare 19.

Thanks Dynamox for looking at that script:)

Ken,
At some point they're going to have to switch - get them looking at this now, so it won't be a rush job in the future. Maybe even RM.
