Did you remember to own the share to a domain admin account (instead of a local account)? Did you try to declare a global admin account and force the change?

From the original post: "Under the Security tab we have taken ownership of the share with a domain admin account, the same account that we are logged into workstation with and checked the Replace owner on subcontainers and objects box."   How do you "declare a global admin account"?

We were finally able to get it to work.  We believe that it just took a long time for the account we were using to take full ownership of all the files and folders in the share.  Thanks!  I'm still kinda curious about the "global admin account"?
