alienware M17x order delay

I recently ( 9th of october! ) ordered an alienware laptop, it was supposed to be delievered today but since the status says 'pre-production' i assumed (correctly) that this would not happen so I emailed the customer care order support using the weblink... got an automated email back saying it was no longer in use (seriously like?! ). So I rang and ended up getting a very nice and apologetic customer service representative on the phone saying that there are currently no motherboards! NO MOTHERBOARDS???? that's just ridiculous on the face of it! so he gave me a new estimated delivery date of the 28th of november but said it was fairly likely that i wouldnt even get the laptop by then and that he couldnt tell me with any reliablility when I would get it! This is an absolute joke and I am very disappointed with Dell. I should have been informed of this manufacturing issue and at the very very least been given a revised delivery date much much earlier, i took the day off work so somebody would be home to collect it..... entire day wasted and no laptop in sight.... total joke.......

I ordered on the 9th October too & like you I took the day off work on 5th November & guess what, no delivery.

Today 6th November I phone customer services & I ask for a revised delivery date (expecting a few days) I am told 28 November, thats another 22 days on top of the 27 I have already waited.

I was also told no motherboards & this could be due to natural disaster such as earthquake/floods in the manufacturing country. so I don't feel too bad apart from the fact I have not had one single email from dell to even confirm my order or to let me know of a delay. My delivery estimate is still showing 5 November.

That is literally exactly what happened me! No word of delays until I called them.... and that estimated delivery date is   , the guy i got on the phone was sound, told me exactly what was going on ( no motherboards ) which i really doubt has anything to do with any natural disasters coz they're made in china so we'd know if something had happened there. The bottom line I was given was that they haven't the parts and have no idea when they will have them and therefore the estimated delivery date is prob gona come and go again. I even went as far as asking if I would have my laptop before Christmas and he said he really couldn't say but I possibly wouldnt. I have always bought dell ( currently on a 6yr old xps) and ive never ever had an issue till now and it seems all my years of hassle free service has come back . oh and i noticed that the dell facebook page is advertising alienware. the alienware products that they can't currently make. They made no reference to delays or manufacturing issues either. a lot of disappointed people out there im guessing.

Placed my order 10/16/12 with delivery date of 11/8/12 (tomorrow) and got an email this morning that my delivery date has been pushed back to the 15th. Planning to call dell later this afternoon

Followed up with Dell this morning, they told me there is no shortage of parts but that the product is delayed to high demand and they are just behind on production.

Dell just called and informed me my laptop is shipping out today and to expect it in the next 24-48 hours. So thats a relief, let me know if anyone else is in similar situation

Just had a call from Dell to say they have cancelled my order as they cannot get some of the parts I have requested & also something about the mains adapter. I have not changed from the standard configuration offered.I am totally bewildered.

28 days from original order date to be told this. :emotion-12:

I am now looking elsewhere for a good gaming laptop in the UK.

OMG, just checked my bank account and Dell have removed £1235 from it 2 days ago for an order which they cancelled over a month ago!

Apparently my new 'cancelled' laptop will be delivered in 8 days time.

Dell if you cancel an order, then cancel it, don't take money from my account for a laptop i ordered 2 months ago which you then cancelled one month ago.

To top it all I have never had a single email from Dell since the day I ordered, I have just had a telephone confirmation that my order was cancelled.

Can I have my money back please?

lol, they rang me ages ago to cancel mine too and then rang me back and said they'd re-ordered it. and i have no idea if the money as gone out of my account and i also have no idea when my laptop is coming. I was told the first week in december ( which is a joke because i order back in october) so this week apparently but the link to follow the laptop says it's still 'in-production' so i doubt it's gona get here this week. And the other guy that wrote above this week got his shipped out to him in 24-48 hours?? If they can do that for somebody else why can't they do that for me?
Total joke.

everyone here seem to have the same situation where once they complained the " senior supervisor " or some sort will guarantee the system will be ship as soon as possible but really it should've been as soon as possible in the first place. people want their own product that's why they order directly from dell , wanna hear my story? well read on

ordered an alieware x51 for my son on the 9th , suppose to ship on te 17th , then delayed , ok fine suppose to ship on the 18th of december ok fine , it finally ship on the 21st and here is what they said " we are sorry for inconvenience so the next time you order something please call the rep and mention this case number ------- so we can issue you a next day service which cost $ 25, well how about instead of lure me into spend more money why not just help me out by ship the system with next day in the first place , and you know what else? dell use FED EX , yes the most ignorant company ever grace the earth and now my system will not be arrive until next year and yes i'm furious , did u know that FED EX require you to have about 11 hours cycle to wait for their delivery? this is worse than comcast , great job dell , now my son is really down , they sure know a way to ruin a child's X MAS

I don't get it , I have been using dell since 1997 and I am a fan but their service is a joke recently , what else r they gonna do

please give us your name , address blah blah so we can assist you, WITH WHAT!?!?!  it's true there are many departments in dell but if people just sit there taking their sweet time waiting for their hourly wage and call it a day without thinking about how people want their system , this here show how poor the company have become. wil they fix it? probably no , this is not customer service , this is not the dell i used to know. of all the stuff i have been through apologize is not enough , u need to compensate because you really made , not just one but MANY MISTAKES
