Check the warranty status with the service tag -- there have been cases recently with old-stock, new systems being sold with expired warranties.  While Dell usually buffers the warranty start date by a few months with retailer-sold systems, if what you purchase is a year old or more, you may find yourself without a warranty - Dell usually will not extend a full warranty to a system that's more than a few months out from its shipping date from Dell to the retailer.
