Damaged Alienware
I received my laptop with a marking on the battery cover, but i thought its minor and ignored it. As soon as i started removing the pastic cover on the laptop I noticed that my side of laptop is open.

If the system was purchased direct from Dell, call and report the damage, and ask for a refund or replacement system, as you wish. Bear in mind that the return clock does not reset if you ask for a replacement system.
If the system was purchased elsewhere, you're bound by your reseller's return policies.

If you ask for a replacement system rather than a refund-reorder, the new system does not come with a 30 day return period -- the original ship date is the replacement system's return beginning. In most locations, Dell allows 30 days for return -- in other words, by the time you receive a replacement system, most of that time (if not all of it) will have passed.
