I don't think the order reps know if parts are short or not, I would assume they don't. It could have been in stock when the order was placed but ran out before yours got to the production stage.
Cancelling is not a problem but can't be done online, you'll need to call them.
I'd give you a link to cancel if there was one, but there isn't.
Delivery dates are prone to changes. I don't have access to the information to give you the exact reason for the delay but it's usually a part that's on back order.
Then they did know this when I ordered, and even when I order now the same system, the delivery time is better.... I need my laptop before Christmas!! How can I cancel a order?
