fake shipping dates

     I did not think this poorly of dell until this incident. I was buying the arctis 5 headset for my online classes. I ordered the product on sept 11 and the website said that the package was expected to arrive on the 21st.

     Come to the 21st, the order has not even been processed. I message the customer service team and they tell me that the provider has not sent it out and it was not their fault. I knew that the website had not updated and knew that the product says available but I let it slide. They said that my product would be processed and shipped on the 23rd.

     Come to 48 hours later (when they said my product would be verified and shipped) I get on the website and low an behold nothing has changed. I continue to (again) ask the customer service what is happening to which they respond by saying that I have to again wait 48 hours for them to process the order.

     I revealed to them that I have already gotten this response and I started asking questions until the lady revealed that THEY DONT EVEN HAVE STOCK OF THE PRODUCT! Clearly, even now it says the product is available.

     At first, it was going to ship on the 21st, and they changed the date to Oct.14th but they told me the stock will refill on the 21st. If I didn't ask, I would be waiting for a product that was promised to come in two weeks that actually arrives over 6 weeks after the order. I asked if there was any way I could get it faster to which they responded with the 10 dollar credit that they give to waste even more money on their store.

    Finally, after asking them a few more questions, the support lady just stops the chat entirely after leaving me on read.

Horrible website management fake delivery dates,horrible customer service

Other companies would show this product as out of stock but Dell chose to rake in money on items that were going to come out months later. Unacceptable from a company that is known for "direct customer service" and "strong capabilities in product management".
