Monitor display issue, non-exist customer support

I purchased my U2723QE monitor through Amazon Augest 2022, and it unfortunately had a display issue, as shown in the attached video. The issue got even worse recently, leading to the complete blackout of the screen. The monitor currently can only show black screen, no input source can be displayed, not even the control panel.

I try to connect to the dell service but the dell representatives just not helping at all. I was first asked for Dell order number, which I unfortunately did have one because I got it from Amazon. Then, a representative told me there is no warranty resigtered on this monitor, so to get it repaired, I can start with purchasing a warranty. Then I was given different number, 800-6249896, 866-3503355, 800-9993355, and the support I got was to first wait for 10 minutes to check on my issue, and the sales team referred me to the technical team or the other way around.

After a couple hours, I received no actual assistance, but representatives passing the buck to one another.

The customer support is totally a waste of time. I spent 500 bucks on the monitor but get zero after-sale support. What a great selling strategy Dell has.

You need to contact your Amazon seller (which was more than likely a storefront on Amazon than amazon.com) for the monitor history and answer to the question as to why it shows up with no warranty.

This model comes with a 3-year advanced exchange warranty only if it's purchased direct from Dell -- otherwise, the terms of sale are up to your seller.

Dell does not repair monitors -- if they fail under warranty, they are replaced.  That's pretty much universal -- monitors are generally not repairable either from an economic standpoint or a physical one (they're very often fused together with adhesive, making repairs difficult to impossible).

@ejn63 Hi thank you for the notes. I guess I forgot to mention that I did try to talk to the amazon seller but get no response from it. I specifically asked for the Dell order number but yet got no response. I have initiated the ownership transfer but am still waiting for updates.

By the way, none of the dell representatives told me I should do it with ownership transfer but I have to find it out myself. Again, poor support for Dell customer care personnel.

Ownership transfer requires the original registered owner's information -- if you can't contact the seller, the warranty won't transfer.  And since the monitor is over a year old, and was almost certainly not obtained from Dell -- that warranty will have expired.
