Order Status - Precision 7750

I placed my order for a Precision 7750 with i9-10885H processor, UHD display and RTX 5000 on 25 June and it’s been “about to enter Production” since then.  The order has an estimated ship date of 16 August with delivery on 20 August. 

Why is this order taking so long to move thru “Processing” from “Confirmed” to “Into Production?”   I was hoping that the estimated ship/delivery dates could be bettered.

Almost certainly the answer is the RTX5000 GPU, which is  in very short supply.

First off, big kudos to Dell for being responsive.  I got a PM almost immediately and then was provided an 800 number to call to check order status.  I did that and was told that the problem is in fact “parts shortages.”  Still no realistic estimated delivery other than the one provided originally, but “it is what it is” I suppose with the situation as it exists.  At least it is nice to know that the order isn’t “lost in the sauce.” 

If it is the RTX 5000 that's causing the delay, that’s weird…when I ordered the unit, I believe it was either choose that unit or the T1000, nothing in between.  If I could've had the option of, say, a RTX 3000, I probably would've rather had that.  But, as I say, it wasn't an option when I was making the order.
