Juat to add dell you should really give them the expected date when they go to order if your supplies are low then the website should be updated... Not give your customers a early date just to get the sale and then give multiple delays on thier order
And just an update to the situation it's 22 days in production and still all you get from customer service is estimes and you can tack your progress online when all it says it in production
Did you actually receive your Alienware desktop? Our original delivery date was late December which was then pushed to ship today (Jan 12th). Got an email tonight shipment is delayed until 1/24. I have to consent to the delay, but I don’t appreciate the obvious lack of transparency about the build when they move the date multiple times.
No I still haven't received my computer to this date I was told it would ship on the 10th and it didn't ship untill the 12th and still no where close to being delivered.. In my experience you will be left in the dark many times with dealing with customer service because they don't give you a reason as why it's delayed
Same here, ordered my alienware laptop on Jan.13 and still says "ordered confirmed". Contacted support and all I got was due to shortages we cannot give a shipment date and you may want to pick something that is in stock. There is no "in stock" status on items so that is useless. Just a answer essentially saying you can get it between now and the end of 2022.....
I have finally received my pc... But not very happy with dells workmanship for the money I spent and the time they took to build this thing it looks like they slapped it together I have to open it up and reconnect some of the cables because it looks like a child built my computer slammed it together and done
I've been buying Dell for decades and this was the worst experience I've had with them. Buying my 3rd Alienware now. Ordered on the 19th. They did not specify there would be any delays or back-order status. Was told it normally takes 10 days and in the past, I would get it delivered to my door in less than a week. Checked my status online and it says Feb 10th. After reading the comments I expect it will be later than that. I feel Dell has made some changes. They must not be 24x7 for builds anymore. The sales staff must be commissioned as they say anything to make a sell and get you off the phone. They are not communicating the backorders or delays. Seems the desktop business does not have any US employees anymore. What does US companies like Dell\EMC have against US employees? Seems like discrimination. The representatives I've talked to about the delays were rude and talked over me. They had no want to hear anything I had to say. It's a sad state of affairs in Dell\EMC. This may very well be my last Dell. I will just buy from offshore companies from now on. No reason to buy from a US company that doesn't care about local customers. I can get cheap anywhere.
Yes I agree with you 100%once Dell acquired alienware the name went out the door they doo not care about the customer only the money it was my first and absolutely last time dealing with Dell
They put you in the back of the line because they can. 5 desktops I've purchased with them every single one has had major delays. They just hope you keep quiet about it all
Ordered my Alienware R13 on March 7. Received email confirmation to be shipped and received by March 15. On March 14, I receive another email saying there's a delay in the order and it will be shipped by March 29. My decision to order from Dell and the particular Alienware R13 configuration was because they advertised on their website "Get it by March 11-15."
I get it, there is a supplier issue going on around the world. BUT, then riddle me this:
If I go onto Dell's website today (March 16) and build the EXACT same configuration, they say "Get it by March 21-25." In other words, they are advertising a delivery date by March 25th to customer considering today buying the same configuration I ordered on March 7th!
This is unethical business practices and also illegal (See heading: What You Should Know Before You Make a Shipment Representation -Business Guide to the FTC's Mail, Internet, or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule | Federal Trade Commission). They are advertising earlier delivery dates just to push them to later dates once orders have been filled and paid, leaving the consumer waiting and waiting. In the meantime, the company (Dell/EMC) can report revenues on their balance sheets.
In the end, just very, very disappointing. Dell was a better company in the past. Now, not so much.
I am also in a similar boat. I was notified my build was completed on March 9th and to allow 5 business days for shipping. I gave the five business days and still no update so I emailed customer support today to be told that my order has been delayed due to inventory shortages. Which makes no sense if my build was completed. If it’s completed, it should be shipped. Bummed I paid the extra for expedited shipping and to see so many others having the same issue. I can’t say I’ll be sticking with Dell for my next computer. Especially with the mess they’ve put their customers in.
I have had the same thing spent over 2000, on a PC, called talked to someone that said there is no delays. this happen March 9th 2022, its now 4.1.22
i called many times to find out what is going on they keep saying part is out of stalk but one moment it was a video card then , another party, its different with each person i speak with . then they tell me i can change the devices transfer me over to some other group, and then im told no we cant make changes.
Now its saying i wont get my PC till Apr 11th, I use to stand up for Dell and their service now i regret it, im so unhappy with the lack of commutation be tween departments they cant give you a solid answer, they expect you to hand over the money to pay t hem for a project you have to wait for. Also IF Parts are out of stalk HERE IS AN IDEA , put that on your website state what parts are delayed this way a customer will not have false advertising.
I will never buy from Dell again. I feel so bad Alien ware got bought out by them because they are now included in this and even though i' m 1 person and Dell might not care ill be sure that at work and friends and family do not ever buy Dell, it would have been faster to just order the parts and build the pc.
IF i see one more delay on my order i will cancel it. im really upset bout this i know for a fact it doesn't take weeks to build a PC done in an hour or 2 multi pcs in a DAY and if you are out of the products put that on your website while ordering so customer can choose one that is in stock. don't sell products YOU DONT HAVE!

Hi,
I'm very sorry to hear of what has happened. This is not the experience we want our customers to have.
Could you provide the order # and the registered owner's name via direct message? I'll have it checked right away.
