Payment failure, #4
I have this problem (UK) and contacted my bank. The problem is that Dell's payment system does not appear to comply with PSD2 SCA. This is a Europe wide payment authorisation system that usually uses the bank's smart phone app. Payments of significant value have to be approved this way and all suppliers that I have ever come across, with the exception of Dell, use this system - they have too, otherwise it wouldn't work! I recently made an online purchase from Dell's web site using my Mastercard and was surprised that I was not asked to approve this using my phone app. Consequently Dell sent me a message that the payment had not been approved. Of course it hadn't as they had bypassed the approval process! I have put this issue in for a service request and am still waiting for a response. Now considering cancelling the order and buying from a company that seems to know better how to conduct online business.
