Received a call from 512-723-0000

Good Evening,

Received a call from 512-723-0000 around 3:40pm from dell technologies. Somehow they knew about my recent purchase of a game from dell digital library. I thought the case was already closed. I am not sure if this is scam or real. If this is scam then how were they able to get this information. Was it released by a dell employee to a scam artist?

I can't verify, but I do believe it to be a legit number. If it was a scammer, they knew everything about my open case, and did not try to get any information from me. As a test, I even offered to give my credit card number over the phone, to which they responded they couldn't do - I would only be able to pay via Dell.com. That was their chance if they were scammers. Otherwise, they went out of their way to try to resolve an issue for me.

Hi,

Thank you for writing to us here today about the order. I'm sending you a PM to have this checked.

@DELL-Cares Found another post with the same phone number. I am not sure how sensitive information is leaked like my phone number, name, information about the order, etc. ?

This is common practice. When I bought my XPS 13 Plus, I got a call couple of week later from a number in Ireland which was a legitimate dell number. First, I thought it was a scam too but it is just good customer service. They just wanted to know if everything was working fine.
