Request for Review – Duplicate Order & Payment System Concerns
After submitting my credit card details via the payment link, the system did not process the payment and instead prompted EFT as the payment method.
I contacted the assigned sales representative the same day and was told the order was cancelled and a new quote was issued. Using the new Quote …2087.2, my credit card payment succeeded, creating Order …50407.
My concerns:
The system generated two quotes/orders for the same item without apparent controls around payment-method thresholds.
My card details were entered in a flow that then defaulted to EFT, which raises questions about data handling and transactional integrity.
Shortly after, an unauthorised charge appeared on my card. This may be coincidental, and I have reported it to my bank, but I believe it’s relevant context.
Request: Could Dell please review:
Why the first payment attempt diverted to EFT and created duplicate quotes/orders;
Whether any card data was stored or exposed beyond PCI-compliant handling;
Confirmation that the initial order was fully cancelled and that I won’t be charged;
A case/reference number and next steps.
