Request for System Exchange – Premium Laptop with Hardware Failure (Error Code 2000-0921)
Hello Dell Team,
I am requesting a system exchange for my brand-new Dell laptop.
Order Number: 1023XXXX (full available via DM)
Order Date: Aug 16, 2025
Delivery Date: Aug 30, 2025
Invoice Value: ~$8,000 (purchase ~$5,000)
From the first week, the system has been unstable (random shutdowns, frequent black-screen boots, and momentary black screen flickers). More importantly, SupportAssist diagnostics flagged a hardware failure:
“NFC failed to respond correctly”
Error Code: 2000-0921 | Validation Code: 114881
Although support suggested the issue may be software-related, this diagnostic clearly indicates a hardware defect. Since the system is brand-new and still inside the 30-day exchange window (delivery Aug 30 → deadline Sep 26), I am requesting a system exchange for a brand-new, sealed replacement unit (not refurbished).
I have already shared my details with Dell support via chat and was told the request will be raised “subject to approval.” I kindly ask for confirmation that my replacement request is officially logged under the 30-day exchange policy.

Dell support has confirmed that my system exchange request was logged on Sep 21, 2025, which is within the 30-day exchange period (delivery was Aug 30, 2025).
They also assured me in writing that the case will remain supported even if processing continues beyond the Sep 26 deadline. I am posting this here to have a public record of the timeline and Dell’s commitment.

Thanks for moving my post. Just to confirm, this is regarding Case #<To protect you, your private information was removed from public view. All private data was saved to your private Case. DELL-Admin> (system exchange request). The case was logged on Sep 21, still inside my 30-day exchange period (delivery Aug 30). I’m awaiting Dell’s approval. Posting here to ensure visibility and record
