There was a problem processing your order. Please use a different payment method or try again later.

I added a desktop computer to my basket.

Upon checkout I used PayPal Credit.    All went smoothly on PayPal side and PayPal Credit set up successfully.

On Pressing "Submit Order and Pay" the website hung and I eventually recieved a "Apologies, we are facing temporary outage of services, but don't worry you can still submit Complete Order again".

Pressing "Submit Order and Pay" does not work becuase PayPal considered this order placed and returns an error message.

This is correct functionality from PayPal.

So I am now stuck.

Please can someone reach out to me and complete this order in the back office so I can get my PC.

I took a very deep breath and went through online support.    I ended up with the following stock response of

"sorry the order did not get processed, I would request you to allow us 24 hours time let the backend team check and resubmit after 24 hours

 

If we are unable to submit then you need to place a new order and the amount will not get deducted from the account until the order is processed correctly"

I waited 24hours but unsurprisingly the order didn't work.   In the end I started from scratch and this time it went through.   I think becuase I had now signed up and could complete the process a lot faster, it didn't time out at Dell's end. 

Only Dell could make it almost impossible to actually purchase a PC [insert your favourite rolls eyes emoji here!]
