UK Dell Delivery Problems

Hi DELL,

I only have one question, why does it take so long to deliver and produce your products? I wanted to buy a good laptop and came across dell inspiron 17r laptop. It has really amazing features and specifications. Fascinated by this and also since Dell being a world wide company with excellent reputation, I quickly ordered my laptop. I ordered my laptop on 21/05/2014 and at that day it showed the order will be delivered at 23/05/2014 so I was really expecting it. Things started going down south after that. They said that they will be in contacts after couple of hours and they only contacted me after a day. After confirming my order, they gave me an estimated delivery date and its was 23/06/2014. After 1 day the estimated delivery duration increased by one month. I tried to contact them on the same day and they didn't take any of my calls, so I emailed them. They still haven't replied to me yet  and I checked their website again and saw that now the estimated delivery date is 17/06/2014. Why in the world is that delivery date quicker than mine? I fail to see any logic behind this. So, overall poor customer service and total disappointment. Also, why would it take more than a month for something to be delivered while other companies can deliver their good 20 times quicker?

I've asked you 1,000,000 times not to exaggerate.  :emotion-1:

Seriously though, even with the change in your delivery dates it's still less than a month. An order date 5-21-14 with a delivery date of 6-17-14 is reasonable. I guarantee you there isn't a company that can get this to you 20 times faster, (yes I know you were exaggerating).

To order a system on the 21st and have it delivered on the 23rd. to me, seems impossible.  The travel time alone would consume most of that time.  I have a feeling that the webpage needed updating as it is notoriously behind, an issue that's being addressed.

Although it wasn't much of an exaggeration.

Between the ordered date and the estimated delivery date there is 864 hours difference and if I on the other hand had ordered a lenovo laptop that very day and time, the seller had guaranteed it would be delivered to me by 23/05/2014 afternoon, which is about 48 hours and couple of more hours. If you work it out, you can find its close to being about 20 times being faster.  :)

True, but that rules out any problem on their end that would push your delivery date back further.

There is no guarantee given by any computer company that when you buy it, the date you'll receive it is carved in stone.  Speaking of Lenovo, recently my friend ordered a desktop from them and their delivery time is about the exact same as yours.

I'm not here to bicker with you but to assist you, if there is anything I can do in that realm please let me know.
