Warranty stinks
My NEW 14z ultrabook went down and i requested service on Oct. 15th. The tech could not get parts and could not come out until Oct 18 (hardly next day) The part they sent did not fix it and they wanted me to send my laptop into depot...when i heard that it was going to be another 2-3 weeks. They said they would send out additional parts to repair my system.....The parts were on back order and they FINALLY autorized a replacement laptop on Oct. 23rd...They have stalled and kept telling me all these different issues and finally they told me it was going to ship on Friday Nov 2nd....and now i hear that i will not ship out until AFTER Nov 8th.....if you NEED your laptop for your day to day...beware that the "next day" in office/home repair does NOT mean what they say it does :(

I am really sorry for all the inconvenience caused to you. The parts were on back order and that has caused the delay in fixing the issue. I am definitely going to put this issue across to my supervisor to make sure that this does not happen again.
I hope all your concerns are taken care and your system is working fine.

no my concerns are not taken care of and i don't know if my system is working fine because it STILL has not shipped and from what i've been told, It will not ship till sometime after the 8th.

Hi MarkW142,
Thank you for providing the service tag of the system. I did check the details and I would like to let you know that that Dell is going to do a system exchange with a NEW INSPIRON 14z.
I did check the order status on the exchange system.
Right now the system is in production and I have informed our expedite team to ship the system soon.
I would let u know the updated status in about 2days

They have been telling me that since i was approved for the laptop back on Oct 23rd

so let me guess, no reply? or the standard "it will ship out sometime AFTER the 8th" ? They can't even guarantee that it will ship out on the 8th? So unless it DOES by some miracle ship out ON the 8th...without upgrading to overnight shipping, I'm looking at ANOTHER week waiting for my replacment laptop.

I would like to tell you that the issue has been fixed and the estimated shipping date is on the 11/08/2012 and Dell will be providing you next day delivery service.
So the estimated delivery date will be on the 11/09/2012.

no offense, and i appreciate your effort, but I can't relax until i have a new working laptop in my hands and it doesn't crash or have other problems (gawd all the horror stories on here have me dreading getting another lemon)...

I do understand your concern and I know how it feels if you don’t have a working laptop.
As said earlier that the system estimated delivery date is 11/09/2012.
Now the system has already been shipped from Dell please check your private message for further tracking information.
