DataDomain Storage Unit Replication question
DataDomain DDOS 5.4.4.3
Hello all. Looking for some guidance for a particular scenario. Our Oracle DBA's are sending RMAN backups to "DataDomain1", into a DDBoost storage unit I created called "DDC_RMAN1."
On DataDomain2, I created a DDBoost storage unit called "DDC_RMAN2".
What I'm trying to determine is the best method for having any data that gets deposited into DataDomain1/data/col1/DDC_RMAN1, to automatically get replicated to DataDomain2/data/col1/DDC_RMAN2, with no other third-party backup application involved. This seems pretty straight forward, but I generally use my backup application to manage all replications/duplications/clones, but not in this case, so I'm not really sure of the best way. Do I create a new DDBoost association? Will that duplicate automatically, or require an outside backup application? Do I go under "replication -> summary -> create pair?
I'd prefer that the duplication is automated, and pretty much real-time, to keep the copied data as up-to-date as possible.
Thanks all! I'll gladly provide any further needed information.
