DFCUSER is not running

Hello all,

I am trying to set up a test run of an Oracle database, over san fiber, to my DD4200. All of our Oracle database backups currently run over the IP network, with the exception of a few that are fibered directly to our tape drives. The fiber is run to the Datadomain, and I can see the active endpoints and initiators in the DD gui. (FYI....we are using Netbackup).

I'm trying to create a fc group on the datadomain using the 'ddboost fc group create' command. When I run this,  I get "**** DFCUSER is not running", and the group will not create. I've researched this on the web, and checked the EMC DDBoost documentation and found very little, if anything, related to this message.

sysadmin@pdc00ddma903# ddboost fc group create PDCDD4200FIBER_GROUP1

**** DFCUSER is not running

sysadmin@pdc00ddma903#\

Any assitance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Todd

Some things to check that may clear the obvious things;

  • Check it is licensed.
  • cmd - ddboost status
  • cmd - ddboost option show fc
    • if disabled
    • cmd - ddboost option set fc enabled
  • cmd - ddboost fc status

Regards,

Jonathan
