Adding Avamar To DPA
I am testing DPA to see if it will meet our needs for reporting on our Avamar system. I installed DPA on a Windows 2008 R2 server and then followed the discovery wizard to add Avamar to DPA (following the directions in the "Installation and Administration" guide). When I tried adding via the discovery wizard I selected that I wanted to do host monitoring and also selected the "Local DPA agent..." option (remote option was greyed out).
It looks like my Avamar system was added but even after sitting overnight I don't get any information from my backups. I'm wondering if I didn't add the grid successfully. What are the exact steps necessary to add Avamar to DPA? How can I test to make sure that DPA is reading data from my Avamar grid? Is there a good report that will show that information is coming from my grid? Note I don't see anything on the dashboards either.
Thanks.

Turns out this was because I had the host monitoring turned on and specified the "Local agent" option. Once I re-added without host monitoring I could specify that the agent was on my DPA server.
