DPA reporting for Symantec Netbackup
Good day
I need help with DPA reporting for Symantec Netbackup.
We have a large client base and need DPA to generate history of specific clients with associated policies , specifically I need to know the start time of the clients backups to manage the timings of policy schedules in NBU master.
It already has by default to automatically email our support alias with a notification that the specific client and server has now failed.
Would it be possible for someone to basically guide me step by step as I have little knowledge of DPA and this is little urgent. Help with this matter will be greatly appreciated

Hi Baig,
There are standard reports that can help with you with that. You can elect to run at the NBU Master node level or on a specific client within the NBU Master. So, set your Time Window for your reporting period, then right-click on the node to get the Navigator Menu, go to :
Scheduling -> Backups -> Job Schedule (this will show you a GANTT style chart of when the jobs ran - per job and you have hover over the line/s which will then show you a tooltip with all the details. Similarly,
Scheduling -> Backups -> Client Schedule will roll up the jobs per client and how you the period over which all the jobs for that client ran
Both the above are based upon existing job data over the reporting time period you specified.
If you want to look at what is scheduled or going to run, then
Scheduling -> Backups -> Group Forecast - this will show you when the NBU Policies are going to run (DPA uses generic terminology, so a 'Group' in a NBU environment is a NBU 'Policy')
