(Error loading module datadomain) when adding DD670 to DPA

Good day,

I am working on adding a Data Domain DD670 to my DPA reporting system for data collection during a POC.  I have followed the VERY helpful, yet bare, "Help Menu" documentation and the DPA 5.8 Administration Guide on getting it configured.  I even found an article that said I needed to download the DD MIB and place it in the DPA MIB folder, which I have done.  When I test my SNMP and SSH credentials, I get a failed status of "Error loading module datadomain."

Does anyone have any good tips on how to fix this?

Thanks,

Hi Blake,

I do not believe you need to download the DD MIB and add it to the DPA MIB folder (this folder is used to store the DPA MIB file for integration when sending SNMP traps as alerts from DPA).

What I would recommend is to:

- Ignore the result of the credentials test and complete the wizard to create the DD node

- Then put your collector into Debug low

- Stop the collector process

- Clear out the collector log files

- Start the collector and leave it to run for a couple of minutes

If the DD collection works correctly then you should see data appear in your DPA GUI for it. If you don't then I would recommend taking that collector log file (which was logging in Debug low) and raise a support ticket via EMC Powerlink. The collector log should contain all the information that support need to diagnose the issue.
