S4112F-ON VLT setup - Intermittent connectivity drops for hosts
Dear all,
We have setup a Storage Spaces Direct cluster with 3 nodes (Dell Poweredge R650xs) and we are using a 2-node-VLT-domain for networking between cluster nodes. The Dell switches have been firmware updated to 10.5.5.5 build 105.
I have noticed persistently repeating connection drops between cluster virtual machines when the traffic must go from one cluster node to another. The cluster networks are setup with Switch Embedded Teaming on the Microsoft side, which means that no LACP was needed to be configured on the S4112F-ON side.
In the output of show trace, I can see these specific interesting logs:
1. High MAC Move Rate, followed by stats, followed by "ignores"
Aug 21 16:19:10 OS10 dn_infra_afs[1023]: [INFRA_AFS:INFRA-AFS-MAC], HIGH MAC MOVE Rate detected
Aug 21 16:19:10 OS10 dn_infra_afs[1023]: [INFRA_AFS:INFRA-AFS-MAC], StatsWindow: # Proc MAC Moves:5 AvgInterval:4183(ms) Maxinterval:18046(ms) Interval-exceeded:1
Aug 21 16:19:10 OS10 dn_infra_afs[1023]: [INFRA_AFS:INFRA-AFS-MAC], # Ignored MAC moves on interface bo1: 2
and
2. Specific interfaces (even the VLT link) complaining that they are not members of VLAN1? What interface is this bo1000 or bo1?
Aug 21 16:19:21 OS10 base_nas[1839]: [NAS_OS:L2-MAC-CHG], Ifindex 60(bo1000) is not member of vlan 1
Aug 21 16:19:21 OS10 base_nas[1839]: [NAS_OS:L2-MAC-CHG], Ifindex 31(bo1) is not member of vlan 1
Aug 21 16:19:22 OS10 base_nas[1839]: [NAS_OS:L2-MAC-CHG], Ifindex 60(bo1000) is not member of vlan 1
Aug 21 16:19:23 OS10 base_nas[1839]: [NAS_OS:L2-MAC-CHG], Ifindex 60(bo1000) is not member of vlan 1
Aug 21 16:19:23 OS10 base_nas[1839]: [NAS_OS:L2-MAC-CHG], Ifindex 31(bo1) is not member of vlan 1
Aug 21 16:19:24 OS10 base_nas[1839]: [NAS_OS:L2-MAC-CHG], Ifindex 60(bo1000) is not member of vlan 1
After copious amounts of head-scratching, I can say we are none the wiser. Kindly offer your advice.
I am also available to offer any extra information required.
Thanks alot!

Hey there! I'm curious if you ever resolved your issue. We are currently testing 2 Dell switches in VLT with a LAB cluster that has SET teams.
