MD Storage
Hello,
should I receive any messages from MD 32xx/36xx/38xx in OME?
In OME I received status change near MD (red sign with cross) that something is wrong but I didn't receive any alert, email notification. I am discovering it using SNMP and ICMP. Also in MDSM I have configured everything correctly as when I click test button I am receiving snmp traps or emails.
I am using OME 2.0.1.2222
thanks
Lukasz

Thanks for the post.
There are a few references to MD in this whitepaper on delltechcenter.com/ome
Making My Environment Manageable for Dell OpenManage Essentials
So be sure you double check that. Hopefully it is still mostly up to date.
In the OME discovery wizard, there is a checkbox for "MD Array" devices. Be sure you've checked that.
Tou say your test trap _does_ show up in the OME alert GUI but an actual alert does not? I think there may some some options for how one sets up an MD array, but be sure the array will direct the SNMP traps to the OME server.
There are some options in the Dell Troubleshooting tool for checking incoming alerts so you can see if it even hits the OME box at all.
Good luck,
Rob

Hi Rob,
I have everything configured in the same way like is in whitepaper in OME and MDSM.
I have "Enable PowerVault MD array discovery" box selected.
In troubleshooting tool I ran trap listener and received following test trap: Enterprise OID: .1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10893.2.30, Generic TrapID: 6, Specific TrapID: 1, Source IPAddress: 0.0.0.0
so traps from MDSM OME is receiving, but question is why when state of MD will change trap is not send or OME is not receiving it?
thanks
