OpenManage Essentials for laptops

Question

Hi All,

In shop we are using OME for our 12g/13g servers.

We have about 90 dell laptops in house. OME can see all 90 devices but cannot grab any info.

Device type unclassified

Health ?

Service tag N/A

is it possible for OME to grab all this info?

Hi and thanks for the post.

For the best experience with those devices you may need to discover those using the WMI protocol.

And be sure you have the Dell Command instrumentation installed on the laptops so they can report back inventory, etc.
