running system update fails
Ok so this is my first run at this and i scheduled one of my servers to run it's updates. it copies the files to that system but it fails. The funny this is that files are in that location and i can see them when i remote to that server.
Results: File deploy command failed to execute with error message: Unable to connect to the remote system.

oh by the way the server it is trying to update is itself.

Hi there and thanks for the question.
A few things to consider which might help.
1. OME system update feature is used to patch managed nodes, but cannot update the OME box itself. This is done as a precaution and reboots, etc, could interrupt tasks that are executing or monitoring that is going on, etc. So generally, people just use SUU to update that single box itself.
2. When pushing system updates, be sure you have admin prviledges on the target.
3. Also, there might be some useful Patch test tools in the Dell Troubleshooting tool that you can look at. This is installed on the OME desktop.
4. Finally maybe one or two patch / update whitepapers on www.delltechcenter.com/ome.
