Pro Max 14 MC14255 Cannot connect to wifi

I have an AMD MC14255 that was sent to me as a seed system.  I've mostly been using it docked, then found out after taking it somewhere, that to my surprise, I could not get it to connect to our corporate Wifi.  I'm domain joined, have all the right policies applied, etc.  I also think I have the MediaTek Driver up to date (5.6.0.4303) so I'm wondering if there is something else that ties into it being an Wifi 7 laptop.  I'm glad to try whatever is needed, but it's not very "laptoppy" if I can't use wifi on it.  Dislaimer, I have not yet tried home wifi - At work, we are going through a Cisco WLC that is authenticating with NPS.

Hi

Dunno.

I would start with it docked and get what info about the setup that I could, then compare that with what is known/expected of what you then want to connect to.

Try one, some, all or none of the following...

A: ping 127.0.0.1 & ping 13.107.4.52

B: ping 192.168.0.1 & ping 192.168.1.1

C: tracert 13.107.4.52

D: netsh interface ip show interface

E: netsh lan show interfaces | more /c

F: powershell Get-NetAdapter

G: ipconfig /all

H: netstat -e -r -s | more /c

I: msinfo32

J: systeminfo

K: ipconfig /flushdns

L: ipconfig /registerdns

M: netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log

N: netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log

O: ipconfig /release

P: ipconfig /renew

Q: nbtstat -RR

R: netsh winsock reset catalog

S: netsh int tcp set heuristics disabled T: nslookup /ns

U: netsh wlan show profiles

V: netsh wlan show profile name=%wkey% key=clear

W: name="%wkey%" connectionmode=auto X: netsh wlan export profile key=clear folder="%wkey%"

Y: netsh wlan delete profile name="%wkey%"

Z: getmac

Maybe concentrate on  .....

WINKEY + R    type     cmd.exe     SHIFT + ENTER

Then A:, B:, C:, G: and J:.

Copy and paste what is NON personal please, if you can.

Alright, so now how about some non-AI responses?

Further findings after trying this at home were that I could not connect to a 5Ghz network, but I COULD connect to a 2.4 Ghz one.  Again, I believe that the drivers are up to date.  The wifi connection obviously works, but it does sound like a driver issue.

@hipsterdoofus I have no knowledge regarding your corporate configuration.  Your IT folks should be able to correct the problem.  Could your work settings be interfering with your home situation?

But Wi-Fi 7 added security and may require a WPA 2/3 security level.  Also, the 2.4 GHz radio has a longer range and can penetrate obstacles better than the higher frequencies.

What type of router do you have at home?  You do have other devices at home that can connect to your home router.

Are your router and computer on the same floor at home?

Hey all, I wanted to circle back to this.  It did appear that ultimately, something about the laptop did not agree with just my work network (also, I am [one of] the IT folks at my work, so no incoming help!).  I used the laptop at a conference, and it worked flawlessly.  It seemed that for some reason it wasn't getting the certificate it needed to authenticate, although it made no sense why.

Ultimately, yesterday, I did a reset on the computer and started over from scratch, joined the domain, etc.  Lo and behold, it connected to the network!  So problem solved - no real idea the reason behind the issue though.
