Our older Dell is an M233s. I think it's the same motherboard. It came with one 32 MB DIMM. I bought another one from Crucial Technology (Micron) in Idaho. I installed the new DIMM, the BIOS knew it had 64 MB of RAM, and the Dell Diagnostics said the Memory was OK.

If you broke the Motherboard, that's another problem and you will need to call Dell Technical Support.

P.S.
Look in the Dell manuals, to see if you can put one 64MB DIMM into that Motherboard.
