Bios Alert Message

During boot up on my optiplex gx240 I recieved the alert message that there had been a previous cpu fan failure. I checked and indeed the fan was not working. I replaced the fan and it is now working correctly. I cleared the event log in the bios however whenever I shut down and then restart the computer I get the message "cpu fan out of range:. I have cleared this event from the log at least a dozen times and it still returns. Is this related to the previous fan failure or a new issue. Any ideas.
Thanks.

You must use a Dell fan. Standard parts do not work.

I did replace the fan with a another dell fan and it is working fine but I am still not able to clear the event log from the bios when the machine reboots. I can skip over it by pressing F1 but would like to remove it if possible.
Thanks
