Cannot select RAID 0 on Dimension E520 Matrix ICH8r
I have a Dimension E520 with a Matrix ICH8R. My only RAID option is RAID 1. Everything I have read indicates that RAID 0 should be an option. How do I enable RAID 0? The ROM version is 6.0.0.1022

I've always thought that the E520 only supported RAID 1, and if you look at the E520 User's Manual, RAID 1 is the only mode described as being supported. Where did you find documentation that says otherwise?

I don't have the E520 manual. I was reading the documentation on the ICH8R at Intel's Web site:

Perhaps that was the mistake. And, according to the E520 manual online, you are correct. So, thanks for the quick and accurate response.

You're very welcome. I've come across this sort of thing before with Dells; sometimes the BIOS, main board, or both, doesn't have everything necessary to support the full capability of the chip set.
