Com 1 busy - Bypass?
Go to device mgr>com 1>port settings>advanced. At bottom of that page it will say com 1. Change to some other port, i.e. com 2, click OK. Assign your serial device to the port you just picked. Not sure why, but it appears to work.

I haven't tried it but the same type option is on Device Mgr>Modem>Advanced>Advanced Port Settings.

I think I figured out how to do it, but I don't have time to work on it right now. I see in device mgr>ports, I can change COM1 to COM2. And when I use the hardware wizard, there is an option to change the port number. When I have to reinstall my modem again, I'll try it. If it works, I'll post back.

FYI: Yes, this is information only. Com 1 works OK with A05 & A06. The bypass can be removed.
