Connections disabled

I am using Dimension 2200, Windows XP, AOL server.
The Connections page shows that AOL, Dial-up, and
MSN Explorer are disconnected, and that LAN is disabled.
Since I am able to use use email, I must be connected in
some way.   Going to Troubleshooter led to Microsoft I
Interactive Training and an error window popped up
stating it could not open database and dbf invalid path.
I get a lot of  'page cannot be displayed' or 'action cancelled'
pages.   As you can guess, my technical knowledge is zero,
but it seems to me that there is something here that needs
to be corrected.    Has anyone else had anything similar.

how are you connected to the internet? Via Ethernet cable? Or wireless network? If you are connected through wired network (ethernet cable going to router or modem), you need to ENABLE your LAN connection. This will be under Network Connections. If you are wireless, just enable the WIRELESS shortcut, in the same window. I recommend you enable those, then reset your router, or modem. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your help, Duddy.   I'll give it a try, and let you know how it works.

Appreciate your taking time.    Aileen.
