DO NOT use the Dell downloand manager. It has been known to cause problems. On the PC that you tried to download, uninstall the Dell downloadmanager and delete and cookies for the Dell support site. Then you should be able to access the downloads and download each one individually by clicking on the Blue download button and selecting download via Browser (I think that's what it says).
Have you checked to see if yours has the Dell Recovery Partition on the hard drive? CTRL/F11 at power on will access the PC Restore if you have it and this will restore the PC to the original factory condition and no discs are needed.
