If it is the menu entry for system information you are missing,
Try this:

Right-click the start button and choose open.
Keep opening folders until you get to the System Tools folder.
Right-click in a blank area within the System Tools folder and choose create new shortcut here.

Name the shortcut System Information. The target will need to be the one I previously provided. I am on a different PC today and don't have any way to look it up.

If this is not what you are trying to do, please post back. If you need the target again, perhaps someone else will jump in here.

Don't call yourself a dummy cuz you're not. To create a shortcut for the System Information, press F3 for the Find (searching tool). In the dialog box, type in system information. Make sure you the search looking through the C drive. Press OK. You should find something about System Information (an icon mostly). Right-click this icon and select Create Shortcut. It might prompt you to create it on the Desktop then select Yes. And your System Information icon should be created on the Desktop. Hope this helps
