This could be related to the Verisign certificate verification check. If you're using Norton Anti-Virus, try this work-around: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced tab > scroll down to Security and uncheck "Check for publisher's certificate revocation" > click OK. Post again if this didn't help; it also could be related to spyware.

There is a utility I use named "Tweak UI". The program is free. There is a tab in this program named "Mouse". Here you can adjust the menu speed to fast. I realize this may not be the fix you're looking for but this works!!!  It may be worth the try. mcamargo

Try starting the Task Manager and see if any process is using a large percentage of CPU bandwidth, especially when you right click.  That might help identify the culprit.

Also check the device manager and see if you have an exclamation point next to any items, that could flag a driver issue.

You can also try PCPitstop.com and do a scan to search for potential issues.

There are two 'services.exe' running on a Dell comp. One is 'Services.exe' and the other is 'services.exe'

Note the Capital on the first one. The Capitilized Services.exe is installed by Dell, and it give news updates etc...It's pointless, and I'm tempted to reformat the hard drive on my 8300 to get rid of the Dell 'goodies'.

Anyway, click "End Process" on "Services.exe" not "services.exe", understand? See if that helps?

You didn't mention; did PCPitstop show any issues?  What about in Device Manager, was there an exclamation mark next to any items?

You can also try some housekeeping activities - defrag the hard drive, and try a disk cleanup scan from within drive properties.

I would also try running HijackThis, and posting the results in one of the forums that specializes in that tool.

When you installed the new video card, did you uninstall any old drivers before installing the new ones?  Did you do a check to see if there were newer drivers than what shipped with the card?

When you right-click, does your hard-drive start to freak out? Example, the light flashes alot and you hear alot of ticking noises?

I have defragged the harddrive, updated video drivers, ran disk clean up. THere is no ! mark next to anything in device manager. i have adaware and spybotsearchanddestroy and run them frequently, I just recently scanned using norton; didn't find anything. My harddrive doesn't freak out when i right click. I have had no luck doing any of theese things.

Running HijackThis can identify items that would be missed by both AdAware and Spybot, so I would still do that just to be safe.

You didn't mention if PCpitstop.com identified any issues.

Have you had Norton running since this began?  Are you using Norton firewall?  If so, try disabling that as a test.  If that resolves it, try using Zone Alarm instead.
